The main urban hub and capital of the Upper East Region of Ghana, Bolgatanga or Bolga in short is a bustling crossroads town with a vibrant local market that goes back centuries. Come here to lose yourself in tales of ancient tribes, local traditions, and striking West African architecture, not to mention reserves laden with granite-formations strewn with wawa trees and scrublands.
