Yazd is the city of wind catchers, fire temples, mud-brick alleys, Qanats, Ab Anbars, confectionaries and a delightful history. This beautiful city is situated between the northern Dasht-e Kavir and the southern Dasht-e Lut and is recently declared to be a world heritage site by UNESCO.

If you travel to this desert city, you will notice wind towers- 'Windcatchers or Badgers' all around. This is the reason Yazd is also called 'the city of wind catchers'. This city is also well-known for its fire temples- the holy shrines for the Zoroastrians. This old city is more appealing. Getting lost in its narrow alleys can be an unforgettable experience. Qanats and Ab Anbars reflect the adaptation of people in the old era to such a harsh environment.

People here are really kind and heart-warming. Food is unbelievably delicious. Make sure you try Qeymeh-Yazdi and Shooli. Finally, the Yazdi confectioneries are famous all around Iran. Take suggestions from locals before you place the order for food.

In the end, this city is all you need if you are interested in history, architecture and old-era lifestyle.
