First and foremost, I would like to welcome you all to the great safari or travel destination of Tanzania. Tanzania is one of the most natural and nature-bound nations in the world. Having many attractions and natural wonders. Tanzania is one of the good wildlife destinations that one can visit, currently having 21 national parks, including the world-famous Serengeti National Park. A large part of the country is set aside for wildlife. Many landscapes and structures also exist, including two ridges of the Great Rift Valley and Africa's highest, Mount kilimanjaro.
I would like to give a brief history of the land in Tanzania; this land was formerly German East Africa from 1881 to 1918 and then the British protectorate after the First World War from 1920 to 1961. this land was also known as Tanganyika. the name Tanzania came into existence in 1964 after the unification of Tanganyika and Zanzibar. The land has a long history and possesses some ancient towns like Kilwa (quinoa), which were known by the Romans. Kilwa is one of the oldest towns on the coast of the Indian Ocean, believed to have been a town dating back to the 4th century. With structures dating to the 14 century, it is now considered a world heritage site. Tanzania has many world heritage sites, including Mount Kilimanjaro, the Ngorongoro Legai geopark, and many more.
Having many attractions and natural wonders, one has to have a strategic travel plan. As all sites are attractive, a traveller can visit as many as possible with time. I will try to give some tips and options for travellers who want to visit Tanzania.
1. For mountaineers, I would recommend Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. This mountain currently has six climbing routes and takes an average of five to six days. Normally, the eastern routes are simpler, called the Coca-Cola routes. Marangu is a famous eastern route. The eastern route has log cabins and facilitates no tent camping as it is windy at all times and faces the direction of currents of the Indian Ocean. The other western routes are tough and considered as whisky routes. They have no strong winds and accommodate tent camping. giving one stunning view, especially for the sunset on clear days. Normally, one can climb Uhuru Peak on Mt Kilimanjaro. Also, there are day trips and hikes to various points, including Mandara hut, waterfalls and ancient caves around the mountain. There are many waterfalls, but the must-visit ones are Materuni Waterfalls, Kilasia Waterfalls, Kinukamori Waterfalls, Ndoro Waterfalls and Kilasia Waterfalls. One can visit the ancient Chagga caves in Marangu. Also, other recommended sites for travellers with time are Lake Challa and Chemka Hot Springs. For mountain viewing, overnights are recommended in Moshi town.
