Exploring Dubai’s Theme Parks

Visiting a theme park as a child is just about one of the greatest pleasures in the world. Dubai has a number of unforgettable destinations that will have the kids fascinated, excited and (ultimately) wiped out. Whether you’re looking to cool down from the desert climate or mix some education in with the excitement, Dubai has it all. Wild Wadi is one of the city’s top water parks with every waterslide, surfing simulator and exhilarating water ride imaginable. Located next to the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, this park will have both the kids and the parents ready for more. Continue with the fun at Aquaventure Waterpark, Dreamland Aqua Park, Splashland and Ice Land water parks, excellent spots with water entertainment for all age groups.

Add some education in with the excitement at Dubai’s Children’s City. Opened in 2002, this discovery center covers all the favorite topics with its nature, space, culture, workshop, planetarium, computer and theatre centers… and loads more. From toddlers to teens, everyone will be able to find something interesting and exciting in this interactive education center. If there’s still time left in the day, only a short walk away from Children’s City is the Dubai Dolphinarium- another great place to keep the fun rolling. The first indoor, air-conditioned marine park in the Middle East, dolphin, seal and exotic bird shows will capture everyone’s attention.

Dubai’s World-Class Malls

Your hometown might have a mall, and visiting a mall on your vacation may seem a bit silly… but there’s nothing in the world quite like Dubai’s malls. The Dubai Mall is the largest shopping mall in the world, with an amazing outdoor fountain (with stunning water, light and music shows daily), indoor aquarium and underwater zoo, theme park (SEGA Republic), ice skating rink (yes, you can go ice skating in the desert), indoor waterfall and, of course, shops and restaurants. Kids will be spellbound by the attractions, activities and yes, the world’s largest candy store; every child’s dream come true! 

Another of Dubai’s lavish mall complexes is the Mall of the Emirates. A multi-level shopping center, this mall is home to over 700 stores, 90 international restaurants, a 500-seat theatre and the world famous Ski Dubai complex. Fancy a family ski trip while you’re touring the desert? The first indoor ski resort and snow park in the Middle East, Ski Dubai has an 85 meter high mountain with five different slopes to choose from; truly one of the most fascinating activities to do in Dubai.

Visiting the Desert and the Beaches

In stark contrast to the skiing getaway, Dubai has some amazing tropical desert climate activities to choose from. Hire an SUV for an unforgettable desert safari, go four-wheeling through the dunes, try your hand at sand boarding or visit a nearby camel farm- always a hit with the kids. Having done it all, relax at one of Dubai’s lovely beaches where the kids can play in the sand and parents can soak up the sun.
