The increase of crime in tourist destinations is connected into many things like social, economic ,political and religion.Govts, associations and institutions are really doing lots to ameloriate and improve situations for example there are many security personel at important places to take care of the security of travellers around the world.

But I do believe that apart from govts and institutions the people who are involved in tourism and travelling business still have more to do.

Travel agencies, tour operators, tour managers and tour guides all over the world not just in the developing countries must be ahead practically in terms of information and intelligence gathering about the safety situation of a particular area that their visitors may be visiting or will like to visit not just based on what is heard on TV and Radio or read on the pages of newspapers, they themselves must be practcally conversant with day to day situation on the ground. This step can not only help in averting dangers but will help in building good reputations for the tourism industry.Tourists may like to visit certain areas that they do not know that it is not all that wise due to safety reasons it is the duty of the operator to let the tourist know the security risk at stake there.

Safety risks are very many that i can not list them here, some may seem to be of no risk to the people on the ground but it is a great risk to a visitor.
