DID YOU KNOW WHY LIONS ARE THE KINGS OF THE JUNGLE?.

This is mostly because of a lion’s appearance and partly because of the social structure of a pride and the lion’s role in the pride. A lion does possess a royal look and attitude.

ROAR?.

They roar to communicate their position to other prides, more so the lions roar is the loudest of any big cat and can be heard 8 kms away.

WHO HUNTS AMONG THE FEMALE AND MALE?.

Well the females are the main hunters of the pride, they form hunting parties to round up the fast animals found in their habitat.

HOW AND WHEN LIONS HUNT?

They mostly hunt at night or during early mornings, however they will hunt if any chances of prey arises.

Lions have two version they use while hunting
The first is a version of grandmother's footsteps, in which the lion stalks from cover to cover with a final burst of speed at the end. (If spotted, the lion will sit up and stare nonchalantly into the distance.)
The second method is to find a bush close to something your prey needs - usually water - climb in and wait.

GESTATION PERIOD;

It is around 4 months and at 3-4 years the old males and females are ready to mate, more so, all females in a group of lions mate at the same time.

WHY THEY HAVE MANES AROUND THEIR NECK??

Well the manes function is to make the male look more impressive to females and more intimidating to other animals. They also spend around 16 to 20 hrs each day sleeping and resting.
