Eighth Station: Corpus Clock (the Corpus Clock)
Corpus Clock by John Taylor (John Tylor) invention design. Taylor found a a specialized manufacture of high precision industrial equipment manufacturer from Cambridge about six miles away. Under Taylor's producer, spent more than two hundred five years to complete fabrication. September 19, 2008, the great clock unveiled by Stephen Hawking. Hawking associated with Taylor and between their respective time to interpret in a different way. Hawking's book "Brief History of Time," originally published in 1988, twenty years has sold more than 100,000, but because of too difficult to understand, most of them have been shelved. However, the great clock of time but can make you feel the kindness and cruelty in a short period of time.

First, you see a huge Corpus Clock gilded surface, like a mirror finish. Then you will see a soft ripple of radiation, like a stone into the calm center of the pond, floating open to circle around. Like the passage of time in our lives, who would deliberately go to observe her presence or disappear too! We look at how the great clock of time is the interpretation: see points of light that are located in three blue outer ring, the inner ring and on, never stops running along the track corresponding to the second hand on the outer ring; Central Looking around on the equivalent of the minute hand; the center is equivalent to sit tight in Taishan hour. In fact, it represents the time of the Blu-ray is not rotating, that rotation is behind the intricate gears. Qing in "rush" wrote, "The sun has feet ah, lightly and furtively; I am also confused his revolution.". The sun is its own everlasting, because you will not sleep at night and disappear. You see or not see, the time is there. You can feel the designer is so trying to share his philosophy of time with us.
"You're smart, tell me, why should our days never to return?" Qing questions to the "rush" of. Look at that big clock above the monster, maybe you'll find a little bit of an answer. It is dressed in black, crimson tongues, wide mouth dark, and obviously dancing to its metal wings, and you seemed to fight to the death. "Revelation" in Section IX III records, "have come out of the smoke locusts," Taylor thereby be inspired to give this monster named "Time locusts" (Chronophage). This is a time-eating monster, devouring our special time. Taylor's most admired British clockmaker John Harrison (John Harrison, 1693-1776) designed the "Time grasshopper" (grasshopper). Harrison made the bell even today 300 years later, is also capable of normal operation, there is a collection of the museum on the history of science in the University of Cambridge.

Taylor studied engineering at Corpus Christi College, graduating in 1959 to join his father's company. His father was an inventor, Taylor inherited his father's footsteps, you can imagine how much he invention! Corpus Clock story began building behind it. If you look up, you can see the high walls carved the words "the London bank in 1867," but there has been a property of Corpus Christi College. When the lease expires, the college plans to build a new library, they would alumni donations. Taylor sponsored a library. However, later he found in a gap between two walls (that is, before the bank door). Taylor said, "Do not worry, I'll build a clock it!." You know the value of the clock it? Taylor said, "This is a gift!", Of course, we should not ask the price of the gift.
Taylor is how to make money? He invented the automatic shutdown of electric kettle thermostat (the chips such as the thumb size of a fingernail). He has authorized the device is more than 200 times. So, every day, when you drink tea drink coffee, the equivalent of the money you pay to Taylor, that you also indirectly sponsored the great clock.
