Pagang Island
Pagang island is one of the most visited destinations in West Sumatra, It is just around 5 miles or 13 km away from Padang the capital city of West Sumatra. Pagang Island is very famous for its white sands, beautiful beach, with an amazing coral reef and underwater life. The name of this island originated from the history of a family who got separated due to a conflict and ran away to the nearby Pamutusan island and Pasumpahan island. They finally united again in Pagang which means "Family Unite". Take a walk on its shores and also take photographs of the beautiful nature that surrounds the Pagang island.
How to get to Pagang Island
It takes 45 - 60 minutes driving from Padang to reach Bungus.To cross the island we'll rent a private boat cost US$ 100 - US$150 return, entry to the island will also be charged per person. There are rooms and tents available for upto 50 peoples; one can also opt for the travel agents who organize one day tour to Pagang Island, starting UD $ 30 to US$ 150 /person, depending upon the pattern of the tour and facilities offered.

There many activities to do here such as, Fishing, Snorkeling, Hiking, Walking around the Island, Camping, Banana boat and even Scuba Diving. If in a lazy mood, just relax on the beach, enjoy sunbathing or just walk on the sands.
