Regardless of their religious beliefs and nationalities, Nowruz is celebrated by Kurds all around the world. Giant bonfires are lit around which people join the traditional circle dances, and everyone dresses in gorgeous traditional costumes. You may wonder why "fire" is so important, it is an ancient celebration and dates back to the time when a fire was absolutely crucial for people, and in addition, it means light, spring, and the renewal of nature. The dark season has passed (winter) everyone is dancing and happy to see this heavenly golden light.
As for Iranian Kurdistan, you can see the golden glow of a fire and new things everywhere. Notably, in Palangan, the festival creates an enjoyable outdoor spectacle. In cities, like Sanandaj, the Administration of Cultural Heritage arranges and executes programs such as Kurdish dance, Kurdish music, play and so on. You can join in with the locals as they dance and be a part of this wonderful celebration.
