Malta is famous for many things but did you know that Malta also produces one of the best beers? We have compiled a list of beers for you to try when you’re visiting the island.
This beer was crafted by Mcast (a collage) by students. It was the official Valletta’s beer when the capital city was named the European City of Culture.
Hopleaf Pale Ale
This British Ale ties with Malta's identity as part of the British Empire where the recipe of the beer was created in 1928. It has a peppery taste with a light hop and malty tones. You can find this beer almost anywhere. Best enjoyed in the Historical setting such as one of the cafes in Valletta.
Farsons Shady
Much lighter than your traditional beer with an alcohol level of just 2.2%, it can be found in any local stores and pack it in a cooler to enjoy while on the beach.
Farsons Blue Label
Another one by Farsons this beer was first produced somewhere around the 1920s. This beer as rich rather chocolatey taste and amber in colour.
The Brew, Dark.
If you like a strong dark taste this beer if for you. It’s created by an experienced beer drinker. It has a rostered nutty flavour best enjoyed somewhere with a view.
Stretta IPA No!
This beer is rather bittersweet with golden colour. It has a malty citrus tone which makes a great refreshment not sold at in stores but most restaurants sell it.
Lord Chambray Blue Lagoon
This is a Gozo beer and it’s quite new. It's named after the Comino, it has a rich flavour like Belgian style wheat beer. With hints of Coriander and orange.
Phoenix Raw Beer
Created by a team of husband and wife Alessandro and Federica from Italy. They produced four beers Robust Rabat Ale, Rubin Double Ale, TAR Robust Porter and Blonde Floral Ale. This beer has a dark colour which is rather strong in taste.
Cisk Chill
These fruity beers are refreshing and perfect for the hot summer days. They’re found in most stores and kiosks around the island. This beer comes in a variety of flavours Lemon, Berry, Ginger and Lime.

Last and not least, the real crowd pleaser and a famous beer in and outside the island as it won countless awards. Found in any stores and restaurants with a flavour that we can describe as it owns.
