Adi is an ethnic tribe of Arunachal Pradesh known for their rich culture and heritage. Among the Adis, the Galo community celebrate ‘Mopin’ with pomp & fervour as an annual harvest festival during the advent of the Spring season in India.
Mopin
Mopin is a celebration of the harvest season held in the Galo months of "Lumi" and "Luki", corresponding to the months of March–April and the new year for the Galo tribe. The festival is believed to be the harbinger of peace, prosperity, and wealth as well. The rituals associated with celebrating Mopin include worshiping the Goddess known as Mopin Ane – similar to Goddess Lakhsmi.
