Lacquer is one of the most famous handicraft in Vietnam which is considered as Vietnamese national art.  Early Vietnamese artisans discovered how to use the resin (sap) of lacquer trees that grow in the North of Vietnam to protect delicate paintings and other forms of art and makes the surface of the painting smooth and glossy. Obtaining the lacquer and crafting lacquer wares is a process that requires knowledge, patience, ingenuity and foresight. Environmental friendly raw materials such as wood, bamboo, natural lacquer is a major concern for our production. Each creation of a lacquer product is the result of a time-honoured process. The products have 18 coats of lacquer which makes them very durable. There are 3 kinds of lacquerwares: painting, mother-of-pearl and eggshell. All lacquer products are uniquely handmade by skilled craftsmen/women. Each item is a piece of art and the customers simply buy not only for the aesthetic value or for the quality but also for the Vietnamese culture value of the pieces.
