Biduk-Biduk in East Kalimantan is a sub-district in the eastern end of Berau Regency and consists of 6 villages. The majority of the residents belong to Sulawesi island and have lived in this area for a long time.
Animals
The region has a pretty good biological wealth. The dippers still have 22 species of mammals consisting of 4 orders and 11 families. Of the 22 species observed, 10 of them are protected by Government Regulation No.7 / 1999, which are: Landak Raya, Owa Kalawat, Honey Bear, Linsang gill, Binturong, Kuwuk Cat, Napu Pelanduk, Kancil Deer, Kujang Muntjak, Kijang Kuning, and Sambar Deer. While on this trip we might have a chance to see, Bears, Gibbon, Proboscis Monkeys in Wild Jungle Trek Teluk Sumbang.
Bird-life
In terms of bird-life, 104 bird species were identified from 38 families in this location, with 6 endemic species, namely Takur Topi-Hitam (Megalaima henricii), Takur Tutut (Megalaima raflesii), Takur Neck-Hitam (Megalaima eximia), Pijantung Kalimantan (Arachntera everetti ), Bondol Borneo (Lonchura fuscans) Head-Stone Pacat (Pitta baudii), and Sempidan Kalimantan (Lophora bulweri).
Flora
Other biological riches include 164 plant species of 50 families in this place, including some endemic to Kalimantan, such as Monocarpia marginalis, Durio culcis, Monocarpia kalimantanensis, Shorea mojongensis, and Monocarpia euneura.
Lake
The dippers also have a two flavored lake, named Labuan Cermin. The water at the bottom of the lake tastes salty, while the surface is fresh water. The 51-hectare lake has 9 small islands in it. The clear water of the lake offers perfect views of the bottom.
