Built by the founder of Jaipur city who was built five observatories in India to fullfill the wish of Mughal Emperor Muhmmed Shah. The Emperor was not satisfied with the astronomical table. He wanted to correct it but he was not sure about the science of the universe so he asked Jai Singh the 2nd to make the correction. After seven years of hard work, Jai Singh was able to correct the astronomical table with the help of 23 astronomers with whom he worked. He built 5 observatories, out of these observatories the first was built by him in Delhi in 1724. Jaipur Observatory was built by him in 1728-1731 which is included in the UNESCO heritage site. Jaipur's observatory has eighteen instruments one of which is recorded in the Guinness Book.
