In Tijuca National Park, besides the beautiful panoramas of their diverse viewpoints (Chinese View, Mirante Dona Marta, View of the Admiral), one can enjoy the silence, the quiet, the pure air, the mild temperature and the inspiring environment of the forest tropical. 

Hiking trails, a waterfall, bike tours and picnics are some of the recreational activities allowed. Through moderate hiking, unveil up superb views in Pedra Bonita (524 m), Pico Parrot (987 m) and Tijuca Peak (1,021 m) and, with a little more strenuous hike, enjoy the spectacular panorama up in Stone Gávea (842 m). The park has a visitors' center, library, toilets and several recreational areas, such as the Small Waterfall, Mayrink Place and the Dam of Solitude. 

The Visitor Center has "A Forest in the Metropolis", permanent exhibition featuring historic park through photos, videos, games, diagrams of clearing forests, hunting and trafficking of animals, callouts on fauna, flora, archeology, geology, hydrology, lumberjack cycles of tea, cane sugar and coffee, plus interactive model of the unit (size of 3x2 meters) with its main attractions.
