Image titleThe Everest Region (Khumbu) Trek is one of the most popular in the world, and the most developed in Nepal.

Sagarmatha National Park located in the Himalayas of northeast Nepal offers up some of the highest treks in the world. Most trekkers access the Everest Region by simply flying in from Kathmandu city to Lukla; a 30 minute flight with some amazing views.

If possible, try to get a seat on the left-hand side of the plane during the flight to Lukla and on the right-hand side on the flight back from Lukla because all mountains are on the northern parts of Nepal. The landing will be on Lukla's spectacular short airstrip.

In Khumbu, most local people are Sherpa (Buddhist people) who originate from Tibet and come with an amazing Sherpa culture of their own. See their villages, climbing tips and how they keep their surrounding environment so neat and clean.

The Sherpa community in Nepal celebrate many different types of festivals, including that of Losar, Fangi, Ngingne, Dumjee, Manerimdu etc.

While you are here, you can visit lots of Buddhist Monasteries,  Buddhist Stupas and ofcourse the Mani Rocks Wall at Khumbu.

We need to keep our environment clean and safe as there is a requirement to care about our natural resources and also in order to comply with SPCC's (Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee) rules.

Next, get to know a little bit of the wildlife of this region. The most common animals that can be seen in the Sagarmatha National Park and Buffer Zone are the Snow Leopards, Red Pandas, Musk Deers, Barking Deers, Yaks, Jungle Cats, Himalayan Tahr, Royle's Pika, Malayan Porcupines, Nepal Gray Langurs, Himalayan Black Bears etc.

In this region, we will be very close to the mountains and peaks that will allow for some amazing views throughout our trekking trail along with lots of blue clear sacred lakes.

In short, the Everest Region Trek is one of the best in Nepal. Come here and be amazed with the 360 degree panoramic views! A good example of this would be at the top of Gokyo Ri peak (5,357 m) in the Khumbu region, wherein one can see upto four mountains above 8,000 m altitude.

The sunset and sunrise views, both are pleasant in the Khumbu region.
