Accommodation is one of the major components to consider while choosing a safari in Kenya or Tanzania and largely influences the overall safari price. Here we are going to look at the different types of accommodation offered on safari and what makes each different from the other.

Basic Camping:-Accommodation is in Dome-style camping tents with mattresses, pillows, and sleeping bags set daily by the safari crew on designated campsites in or near the national parks. Each campsite has a basic washroom, shower and dining facility; there are solar-heated showers, although sometimes hot water may be limited, so it’s always a clever idea to get a quick shower when you arrive at the campsites. Usually, a guide and a cook will be provided by the safari company, which will prepare meals at the campsite and lunch boxes for the day. This is a great option if you love camping and travelling on a tight budget. Tanzania offers both public and particular campsites that are almost similar and affordable to most parks you will choose to go.

Lodge: A lodge will normally consist of the main building, which will house a reception office, a lounge, a kitchen, a gift shop, a terrace and maybe a swimming pool; there will be a number of other buildings scattered across the plot of land these buildings will include self-contained guest rooms and cottages, public washrooms and staff rooms at short walking distance from the guest’s rooms our lodge safaris in Tanzania’s northern circuit safaris will include a selection of properties such as Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge, Tarangire safari lodge, Ngorongoro farmhouse, to mention a few.

Tented Camps: Like lodges, tented camps are similar to a lodge in terms of setup. There will be the main tent and guest tents. Most tents will be located within the national parks and reserves. The walls will be made of canvas/safari tent mounted on metal or wooden spacious enough just like the lodge structure with proper washrooms and bath, a balcony; the tents come in a different capacity from single occupancy, twin for couples and eve triple big enough to accommodate a king-size bed there is no fencing, therefore, brings guest up-close to nature without compromising comfort, an excellent example of tented camps include; Sayari Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp in Serengeti Tanzania and Saruni Mara Campin Masai Mara Kenya.
