One more interesting place present at Balikpapan, its a place to exhibit a collection of historical and antique objects of Balikpapan city. This place is called Dahor Heritage Balikpapan, it was unveiled in early June. Most locals refer to this region as the Dutch house.

The reason may be because there are few houses lined up along the Dutch heritage of this area.

The collection of photos displayed from when the oil industry developed in Balikpapan, each photo has its source. Some of the photos obtained from the government of Australia and the Netherlands. Only Japan is not willing to share the documentation about Balikpapan.

History class for visitor

Some interesting collections include images of the first oil refinery in Balikpapan. The refinery looks very simple, if we compared with the Pertamina 

(Indonesian Oil Company) processing units now.  The first oil wells in Balikpapan is managed by a trade partnership named De Bataafsche Petroleum Masatshappij, or often called BPM.

 Potential large oil discovered by Jacobus Hubertus Manten (1833-1920). BPM development is funded by investor Sir Marcus Samuel (1853-1927). Concessions in mining and processing of oil in Balikpapan which they entered the territory of the Kingdom of Kutai given by the king directly, Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman (1838-1899).
