Penang, a "Foodie's Paradise" is famous for " Char Koay Yeow"(Fried flat noodles), "Hokkien Mee" (Noodle with spicy gravy) , "Laksa" (Rice Noodle in tamarind sauce) and etc. As for dessert, Bubur Cha Cha ( above picture) is a mixture of cube size yam, sweet potatoes of red, yellow and purple in coconut milk. Also another dessert is "Chendol" which mung beans noodles in coconut milk and brown sugar. All this is better known as traditional "Nyonya" food, a fusion cuisine blend of Chinese, Malay & Thai. This is the earliest fusion food in South East Asia.
