-  TERRAIN : Is mostly mountains and valleys. BiH has shape of triangle. It borders with       Croatia on the north, south and the north-west. With Serbia on the east and montenegro on the south –east. It has access to the sea in Neum. And 60 more mountains with altitude more than 1500 m ( Igman, Trebević, Velež, Jahorina, Vlašić, Visočica, Kozara, Troglav...). Beautiful mountains and green valleys are crisscrosed with clear rivers, lakes and natural springs. Longest river is Drina 346km, followed by Sava 330km, Bosna 271km, Vrbas 214km, Neretva 218, and Una214km,  known for rafting.

-  CLIMATE : We can distinguish tree climate zone:

1. Mediterranean on the southwest:

In these areas we have long hot summes with temperature up to 45°C/113Fand in the winter time around 5°C/41F. Cities that represent this type are Mostar, Neum, Čapljina, Konjic, Trebinje, Međugorje, Stolac...

 

2. Alpine in the central part:

Central areas havesharp winter with temperatures going down to -30°C/-22F on the mountains and in the cities -15°C/5F. With lot of snow. Summers are mild with temperatures arund 30°-36°C/86-97F. Representing cities are Sarajevo, Zenica, Visoko, Vareš, Livno...

3. Central european in the nort :

The north of country has also sharp winters and warm summers. Temperatures go up to 25°C/77F in summer and down to -5°C/23F in winter time. There is also snow but not as much as in cetral part. Most representing city is Banja Luka.

-  POLITICAL SYSTEM : BiH is divided into two entities, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina ( FBiH ) and Republic Serbian ( RS ) reffering to that there are two of everything ( police, goverment, emergency rescue, tourisam agency... ) depending where you are.  Road signs emphasize which entity you are located. In FBiH they use latin and Cyrillic leter but in RS you´ll see signs only in Cyrillic so Serbian-English dictionary would be helpful.
