The highest mountain in the Armenian highlands is Ararat. It is one of the most important national symbols of Armenia. It is considered to be a saint mountain on which Noah's Ark landed after the flood, becoming the diaper of a new humanity, the dispersal of nations and peoples. It has two peaks: big (Masis - 5165 m) and small (Sis - 3925 m). With its beauty, inaccessibility and natural influences, Ararat had a mysterious influence on the Armenian people, being worshipped and mythologized. The majestic beauty of Ararat has been depicted in the paintings by various painters. Famous poets have dedicated many writings to the snow-covered beauty, announcing that we exist, must be, and still multiply.
