13 km far from Kathmandu city, we have a very beautiful and cultural Bhaktapur city lies. Most of the inhabitants in Bhaktapur are of Newar ethnicity, and Nepal Bhasa is spoken predominantly.

Founded in the 12th century by King Ananda Deva, Bhaktapur served as the capital of Nepal during the first half of the Malla Dynasty until the kingdom split into three in the 15th century. Bhaktapur was a powerful and wealthy independent Newar kingdom under the Malla Kings, who ruled Bhaktapur from the 15th century to the late 18th century before it was annexed into the Gorkha Kingdom. The Malla era was a golden one for Bhaktapur as it was during their reign, that art and architecture flourished in Bhaktapur.

Bhaktapur is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and there are hundreds of examples of traditional Newari architecture here. As you wander the city streets, you'll constantly encounter breathtaking buildings boasting complex patterns and the classic red brick exteriors.

Inside the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, there are many things to attract people to visit. International tourists and domestic tourists, and local people also love to be there in their free time.

55 Window Palace

One of the main attractions of the Bhaktapur durbar square is the 55 Window Palace which is one of the best examples of the great wood arch.

Nyatapola Temple

The Temple of the tantric Goddess Siddilakshmi is 5 storey and the tallest temple in the city and the tallest in Nepal.

Pottery Durbar Square

The main attraction of pottery square is the daily life of potters of the Bhaktapur and the process of making the pots. This square is the residential area for the Newari potter, who manually makes the clay pots and sells them.

Dattatreya Durbar square

The main temple is dedicated to Dattatreya, who is a mix of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, although there are several items and inscriptions with closer links to Vishnu. The temple is guarded by statues of the Rajput wrestlers Jayamel and Phattu, who also guard the Nyatapola temple in Bhaktapur.

Dattatreya Temple is a large three-tier temple said to have been built from the timber of a single tree. Built by King Yaksha Malla in1427, it has withstood earthquakes and other calamities over hundreds of years.
