The beauty of this lake is untampered and principally undiscovered by travellers as a result of lack of infrastructure. The surrounding area comprises flora of the Western Himalayan upland with coniferous tree forests and wild apricot– Prunus armeniaca orchards. Recreation activities at higher Kachura Lake include hiking, trout fishing and Himalaya mountain climbing.
Situated at a height of nearly 500 metres, the 70-metre deep lake is enclosed by fruit-laden braid and forests in the foreground and the snow-lined peaks and mountains in the background. With the shadow of neighbouring snow mountains and also the sparkling sunrays filtering through the untamed trees, this lake offers a beautiful sight that can enrich one’s soul for the life. The flickering daylight produces fascinating artificial rainbows. The place is set within the natural scenic beauty and is equally difficult to approach. That is why it is an ideal spot, free from all impurities, for nature lovers.
